Bariloche & Arrayan Forest – Alpine dream in Patagonia

Swiss-like town, shining Alpine lake, fairytale forest

Arayan Forest Bariloche

After a long bus ride from Puerto Madryn, crossing Argentina east to west, we arrive in Bariloche. First thought: Am I in Switzerland? The town, gorgeously situated at the shores of a shining lake, Lago Nahuel Huapi, draws crowds of Argentine travelers eager to explore. We take the bus deeper into the forest, where arrayán trees — 300 to 600 years old — stand in quiet majesty. Humbly we walk among them, gazing in wonder, as if stepping into a fairytale carved by time.
