She is known for her iconic roles in films such as “Et Dieu Cree La Femme” (1956), “La Virite!” (1960).and “Le Mepris” (1963). Bardot was a prominent figure in the French New Wave cinema movement and was often referred to as the “French Marilyn Monroe.” Famous for her striking looks and her ability to convey a sense of sensuality and vulnerability. She had a side career as a singer. Especially the songs she recorded with Serge Gainsbourg are worthwhile listening to.
