Night on Earth (Los Angeles) – Jim Jarmusch – 1991

Los Angeles segment Tomboy Corky (played by Winona Ryder) picks up Victoria Snelling (played by Gena Rowlands) from the airport. While Corky is driving, Victoria is arranging things over her phone. Gradually, Victoria realizes that Corky is cut out for the role as an actress she’s looking for. Corky refuses the film role because she aspires to a future as a mechanic.
