Illusion travels by streetcar is a 1954 Mexican film written by Luis Alcoriza and directed by Luis Buñuel. The movie tells the story of two Mexican tram drivers, Juan Godínez (Carlos Navarro) and Tarrajas (Fernando Soto), who are devastated when they learn that their favorite tram, number 133, is scheduled to be decommissioned.
In a moment of revelry, fueled by heavy drinking, the two workers decide to take the tram out for a joyride, dubbed “one last spin” through Mexico City. The film is a blend of comedy, drama, and social commentary, showcasing Buñuel’s unique style and wit
