Set in post-World War II Yugoslavia, a family is deeply affected by extramarital affairs of the father and the turbulent consequences of the Tito-Stalin split. This film, directed by Emir Kusturica, won the Palme d’Or at the 1985 Cannes Film Festival. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
