Getting Lost in the Amazon with the Matis Tribe

Eva travels deep into the Amazon rainforest to meet the Matis tribe and understand what it means to have exceptional navigation skills. Shadowing a member of the community, Eva explores how the Matis’ intimate awareness of their environment has shaped their survival over generations. She learns traditional way-finding techniques, culminating in a challenging test where she is dropped off in the rainforest and must find her way back to the community using only the skills she has acquired. During the experience, she learns about the importance of engaging in cognitive activities to keep our brains healthy as we age.
