Model of the Year

After a long race Sophia Rosado from the Bronx, New York got the most  votes in our yearly model contest. Her final rival Diana Leyton from Costa Rica was close all the time, but finished second in the end. The contest started with 10 models, until only two models were left.

Interview with Sophia Rosado

How does it feel to be the zona bonita model of the year?
OMG, wow I’m so excited. You have no idea how much I’ve been informing my fans all over, from Myspace to Facebook and even twitter lol.. In the begining I was shock that I made it into the finals and to be honest I didn’t think I was going to win. Since being in the final I had the movation that I wanted to win this contest and it went all the way!! I like to thank Zona Bonita for featuring me on your site and to become Zona Bonita Model Of The Year means a lot, thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Why do you like to be a model?

I love to model because I love the feeling of getting ready and being in front of the camera. It’s been my passion for years and I’m so proud on how far I’ve overcome.

Who is Sophia Rosado?

I’m a professional model from New York. I have been in this business for 4 years now and loving every minute of it.. I believe there are many to see me fail but a woman like me will not give up my passion for modeling..

When did it all start?
It all began when my grandmother told me I had the looks and height to become a fashion model.. I was totally a tomboy in my teenage years but after having my sister (Sarah Rosado) who was my personal photographer at the time, took most of my modeling photos and got more and more comfortable in front of the camera I was seriously comfortable with my own skin… I had taken so many beautiful modeling photos that I’ve been in various urban magazine’s.
I’ve also made shows appearance with “Big Tigger” on BET for 106n park  and Music Video for Manio/Nore remix “my life is a movie” Cheri Dennis “I love you” Julez Santana “Whistle” just to name a few .

What is your favorite type of shoot?

I would say Glamor and lingerie shoots because I love to show the figure of my body. Me being a Latina, I have nice curves and love to show it in my photos

What is your relation with the camera?

My relation with the camera is like my boy friend lol. I love the camera and the camera loves me too.

What is a good photographer?

I love it when a photographer interacts with the model and shares ideas.

If you look in the mirror in the morning what do you think?

Wow! There is some much going through my head when I look in the mirror like my career, my family, my job  ect. I worry about those things most but I will make it though.

Who is your inspiration?
Tara Banks has been my main inspiration as a model and as a person. She is a strong black woman who exudes the right attitude to make it in this business. I never miss her show “America’s next top model” and I especially listen to her criticism of the contestants because it helps me to improve myself.

Your message to the world?

If you have big dreams and want to achieve it but think you can’t? Never doubt yourself! Also I really appreciate you guys taking the time to read my interview thanks.
