How did it feel to be chosen Miss Illinois Latina?
I felt really proud of myself, I have always wanted this for such a long time, when you really want to accomplish a dream, it will come true.

What is the Miss Latina US election exactly about?
The Miss Latina US is Nationals; all states compete in the US and the winner will get a chance to be Miss Latina US; that represents all Latinas in the US.

What do you expect from the Miss Latina US election?
I expect to meet the girls actually, I like making new friends, especially when they are from a different culture. I hope to get more experience from this, I just love being challenged.

Are you nervous?
Yes I am very nervous, we only get one day of rehearsal.

How do you prepare for it?
Well I am actually relaxed, I have been going to the gim, it is really important to be healthy, I have been practicing my walks with my dress and shoes on, and I just pray to God that everything would come out ok.

Do you think participating is more important than winning?
Absolutely!!!! Participating is the most important thing, you get to learn new experiences and meet new friends.

Can you tell us something about the contest?
Well the contest will be in San Antonio, Texas September 28, 2008. Each girl will present themselves with an outfit of there heritage, then comes the swimsuit and the final will the evening gown.

Do you know any of the other participants?
I actually know one the girls, Mayra Rodriguez, Miss Indiana Latina.

What do you think makes a latina girl special?
Are heritage no matter what part of Latin American, we have that spice in us.

How is your model career going at the moment?
Well I have not done that much modeling right now, but I will be going to the auditions for Nuestra Belleza Latina in Chicago.
